I gave away my fabric art, including hats and other creations.

Call me the Santa Claus of April because I came bearing gifts of art. I was going through some old stock fabric art creations I have done a year or two ago when I had my online store that’s since been shut down, and I decided to not only spread joy and make smiles but also to give that same joy and smile to myself. As I unearthed these forgotten pieces, I was reminded of the countless hours spent crafting each design, pouring my heart and soul into every stitch and color choice. Not only did I witness that joy and smiles on many faces during my selling days, but it also gleamed on me as well, rekindling the passion that sometimes gets buried under the weight of daily life. My healing with art not only comes from creating but also comes from seeing the smiles and excitement it brings to others when I gift them my art. Each piece carries with it a story, a memory, and when I gift it, I share a part of myself with the recipient, creating a beautiful connection that transcends words. It’s this cycle of giving and receiving joy that nourishes my spirit, reminding me of the profound impact an artwork can have in brightening someone’s day or even transforming their perspective.

I’m still in my healing phase and eager to paint and draw more than I have in this comeback journey. I know it will be a slow process, but it will all be worth it in the end. The healing is not only physical; it’s a profound mental healing as well. This journey brings a sense of renewal and creativity that I find fulfilling. The healing not only comes from painting, which allows me to express my emotions visually, but it also comes from writing for me. Writing provides a therapeutic outlet, helping me organize my thoughts and feelings, while also documenting my progress. I don’t want to spam up any of your emails by posting more than one post a day or every couple of days, so I am saving my posts in draft form until I’m ready to share them, ensuring that you get notified of a new post. Today, Saturday, April 25th, 2026, I’m on my fourth blog writing, which I will save to drafts for future sharing. I guess I needed some extra healing today, as there is something comforting about putting words to paper and allowing my creative spirit to flourish during this time of self-reflection.

I will soon offer unique artwork to the public through giveaways and contests, as well as to my subscribers as a thank you for their support, with more details to be announced in a special newsletter.

Sincerely,

David L
