I hope my writing has given you a better insight into this artist and his paintings.

This isn’t my departure speech from writing blogs, as I always will continue to give you the life behind the artist, sharing insights, experiences, and the motivations that drive my creative journey. It’s also a continued process into my therapy, as creating paintings serves as a vital outlet for my emotions and thoughts. I want to start devoting more time to my paintings and drawings, allowing me to showcase the depth and complexities of my artistic vision. Writing, in all its forms, is such a great release for me; it not only helps clarify my thoughts but also gives me the ability to express myself in ways that my paintings can’t quite capture. This interplay between writing and art feels like a harmonious balance, a happy medium where I can explore themes and ideas that resonate deeply within me. By intertwining these two mediums, I aim to create an even richer narrative that reflects the multifaceted nature of my creative expression and personal growth.

I’ve written so much in such a short time that I must have had a lot of emotional blockages I needed to break. Each piece has been a small victory over those inner hurdles, allowing me to express thoughts and feelings that, at one time, felt too heavy to share. To those of you who may not see this as a lot in a short time, I currently have about six blog writings waiting in draft mode to be published, showcasing the creative energy that’s suddenly flowed through me. I want to ensure that what I share is meaningful and resonates with you, which is why I’ve been thoughtful about when to release these pieces. I just didn’t want to feel like I was overwhelming you with writings filling up your email notifications, as I know how quickly our inboxes can become cluttered. Balancing the desire to share and the need to respect your time has been a delicate but rewarding process.

I know by the time this blog gets posted, some will feel like I probably touched on sensitive subjects that I shouldn’t share and keep personal. However, I firmly believe that sharing my experiences is essential for genuine connection and understanding. If you’ve been following me and have taken the time to get to know me through my paintings, and especially through my writings, then you already know the answer to why I share my stories. It is not merely for the sake of disclosure; rather, it is to foster a sense of community and to let others know they are not alone in their struggles. Each narrative I disclose serves as a testament to resilience and vulnerability, encouraging open dialogue about the complexities of life. In a world that often encourages us to hide our true selves behind a facade, I hope that by sharing my journey, I can inspire others to embrace their own stories with courage and authenticity.

Sincerely,

David L

Thank you! It’s a painting I did back in 2020 but served a purpose to my blog of today😊
