Will I go back to doing commission art? (An Open Post)

Since returning to art, I’ve decided not to take on commission orders due to health reasons, but I’ve received positive feedback and found satisfaction in gifting my artwork. However, I’m starting to feel the urge to take on commissions again.

If I decide to take on commissions again, it will likely be through personal connections to avoid overwhelm, as I find commission work less enjoyable than creating for pleasure and passion.

I am more inclined to sell my art created out of passion than to take on commissions.

Those dear to me, including family, will always receive my art upon request, reflecting the love and care I have for them. However, there is a concern that I might overwhelm someone special by giving them too much personal art.

For me, passion art is superior to commission art; however, I will likely do commissions through personal connections and sell pre-created art if requested.

I’ll see if I pursue commission art or just keep creating and gifting to those, I care about.

I’m focusing on portrait drawing in various mediums and may consider accepting portrait commissions in the future.

I posted a time-lapsed drawing video of Bon Jovi on my YouTube channel; check the link in my bio to watch it.

I’ll provide updates on this subject in future newsletters, or you can email me with any questions.

P.S. An Open Post means no subscription is needed to read it, while a Closed Post is accessible only to subscribers.

Sincerely,

David L
