The painting of the Strigiformes and the graphite drawing of Jesus Christ both began this weekend, marking an exciting milestone in my artistic journey. It’s my first time multitasking on artwork this year, and I’m eager to embrace the challenge. The painting, a vibrant depiction of the Strigiformes, will be a thoughtful gift for a dear friend who appreciates the beauty of nature and wildlife. Meanwhile, the drawing of Jesus Christ is a commission request, which adds an extra layer of responsibility and inspiration to my work. I find myself fully immersed in the creative process, balancing the intricate details of both pieces while allowing my imagination to flow freely. As I dab my brush and sharpen my pencil, I’m filled with anticipation for how these works will resonate with their future audiences, each carrying a unique message and significance.
I’m aiming to finish both pieces by the end of the week, but there’s no hurry. Creating art shouldn’t feel rushed. As I write this, I’ve progressed more than I expected on each piece.
If you want to learn more about the painting I’m currently working on, please scroll back to read the blog I wrote about Strigiformes, where I explain in detail how I created this piece, the techniques I employed, and the inspiration that guided me throughout the process. In that blog, I also delve into the reasons behind choosing this particular subject, which I intended as a heartfelt surprise for a dear friend, hoping she will like it and appreciate the thought and effort that went into capturing these beautiful creatures. My aim was not only to convey the beauty of Strigiformes but also to express a personal connection that I share with my friend, making this painting a unique and meaningful gift.
I was asked to draw Jesus Christ for someone who requested my services, and I agreed to see if I want to continue doing commissions. Taking on this project felt like a significant challenge, but it also sparked a sense of excitement and curiosity within me. I began researching various artistic interpretations of Jesus, exploring different styles and approaches to truly capture the essence of his character. As I sketched, I found myself reflecting on the deeper significance of this figure in art and religion, which fueled my creativity even further. This experience made me reconsider the value of commissions in my artistic journey, as it presented an opportunity not only to enhance my skills but also to connect with the spiritual narratives that inspire many. With each stroke of my pencil, I contemplated the impact this piece might have on its recipient, further solidifying my desire to explore this avenue of artistry.
