The question I was asked, how do I come up with these ideas to paint?

Most of my ideas I put onto canvas I have already lived through or am experiencing. I paint what I call my “Pages from my private journal,” a painting series I started many years ago that has evolved into a profound expression of my innermost thoughts and feelings. This series not only reflects my personal journey but also serves as a therapeutic tool for healing. Through each stroke of the brush, I delve into layers of emotion, addressing wounds that require attention and understanding. Healing occurs not just for myself, but also for others who can benefit from the restorative power of art, which offers mental and emotional relief, and possibly even physical healing as well. I started painting again after a very long hiatus away from creating, during which I faced numerous challenges. I was engaged in a health battle that took a toll on both my body and mind, ultimately leading to a struggle against feelings of inadequacy and loss due to my inability to create—something that I hold dear as my passion and the essence of my life. Now, with renewed inspiration and a deeper connection to my experiences, I find that each piece I create not only aids in my own recovery but also resonates with those who view it, fostering a shared journey of healing and transformation.

I’ve recently started receiving help with my physical health, which in return has slowly helped me get back into creating. This journey has not only improved my well-being but also reignited my passion for art. Engaging in physical activities and prioritizing my health brought me complete joy and happiness, which in turn has given my mental state a much more creative outlook, allowing me to dive back into my artistic endeavors with renewed vigor. I’ve created many pieces of work that I was thrilled to share with the wonderful new friends I had made along the way. Their feedback and joy were genuine regarding my art, and I found immense fulfillment in watching their reactions. This encouragement in turn prompted me to happily give them pieces of my work freely, fostering a sense of community and connection that further inspired my creativity. It feels liberating to share my passion and see how it resonates with others, as it adds a layer of purpose and meaning to my artistic journey.

My current painting of “Strigiformes”, I’m in the process of finishing very soon, is more than just a thought up imaginative piece, it’s a painting made with more than just out of love for the sake of painting, `E un dipinto nato dal puro amore, dalle mie emozioni e dal mio cuore. `E un dipinto che racchiude i sentimenti personali di vero amore che provo per lei. I’m planning on hopefully finishing this painting this weekend to be ready to present to her by the end of next week.

I have a few ideas planned on what I may paint next, which will most likely be another wildlife painting, this time of my favorite wildlife, wolves. These majestic creatures fascinate me with their beauty and strength, and I want to capture their essence on canvas in a way that brings out their natural grace. I might also try once again to multitask with more projects, as I believe this will stretch my creative abilities further. In addition to the wolves painting, I envision creating a detailed drawing of something that would intrigue and interest the minds of others on my social media platforms. This could include an exploration of various textures and colors that evoke emotions or thoughts, inviting viewers to engage with my art on a deeper level. Balancing both painting and drawing could ultimately lead to a richer artistic expression, showcasing my versatility and passion for wildlife.

Sincerely,

David L
